As the Digital Marketing Manager at Colina Academy, my role revolved around spearheading the development, execution, and management of our comprehensive digital marketing strategy. With a focus on scalability and client acquisition, I orchestrated initiatives across various channels including lead generation, SEO/content marketing, SEM, PR, affiliate marketing, social media, and email marketing.

Challenge

Colina Creative Academy is renowned for its commitment to fostering digital skill acquisition, transforming aspiring tech enthusiasts into market-ready professionals through diverse tech skills intervention programs. In alignment with the brand’s strategic goals, there is a specific focus on enhancing visibility and driving sign-ups for the Lagos Tech Skills Bootcamp in Nigeria.

This initiative seeks to extend the academy’s impact across the region by attracting individuals keen on honing their technological expertise. The goal is to effectively position the Lagos Tech Skills Bootcamp as a premier program in Sub-Saharan Africa, aligning with Colina Creative Academy’s overarching mission of empowering individuals through comprehensive and industry-relevant tech skill development.

Objective

  • To implement precision-targeted marketing campaigns to reach and resonate with the intended audience – aspiring tech enthusiasts and professionals – through a mix of online and offline channels.
  • To facilitate community-building initiatives, workshops, and informational sessions to create awareness about the bootcamp, fostering a sense of belonging and trust within the target audience.
  • To develop and disseminate captivating and informative content, such as success stories, testimonials, and industry insights, to showcase the tangible benefits and impact of participating in the Lagos Tech Skills Bootcamp.

Process

Developing Sales Funnel: I developed a comprehensive plan called the customer value journey. This involved customizing content and selecting appropriate channels for communication at each stage of the sales funnel that aligns with the marketing goal of Lagos Tech Skills’ Bootcamp.

Marketing Strategy: I came up with a robust marketing strategy, defining the brand persona, the communication strategy and media deployment, budgeting and KPI.

  • Landing Page: Developed a high-converting landing page designed to seamlessly guide visitors toward taking decisive actions. The page’s clear and compelling call-to-action elements were strategically positioned, ensuring an intuitive and streamlined user experience. The landing page was optimised to serve as a powerful tool to capture interest, encourage engagement, and drive enrollments for the Lagos Tech Skills Bootcamp.

  • Paid Ads: I initiated a strategic lead generation campaign by deploying search advertisements on Google and LinkedIn, specifically tailored to target six Anglophone countries identified for market penetration by the brand.  The objective was to effectively capture and nurture leads, aligning with the brand’s expansion goals in the targeted regions. The campaign aimed to leverage LinkedIn and Google’s extensive reach to enhance brand visibility and attract potential customers in the identified Anglophone markets.

  • Webinar: Planned and executed targeted webinar campaign aimed at driving surge in enrolment for the Lagos Tech Skills’ Bootcamp. Leveraged expert insights, showcase the value of the bootcamp, and enticed potential participants to take the next step in advancing their tech careers.

 

 

  • Email Marketing: I developed and executed a comprehensive email marketing strategy with the primary goal of fostering engagement and providing exclusive offers to our subscriber base. This involved crafting targeted and compelling email campaigns designed to captivate our audience’s attention, nurture relationships, and deliver exclusive promotions or incentives. The strategy was carefully planned to optimize communication and build a stronger connection with our subscribers, ultimately enhancing our brand’s relationship with its audience.

 

Exhibition: Deployed exhibition to strategically enhance awareness and engagement for the Lagos Tech Skills Bootcamp. By actively participating in these events, we not only showcased the program but also initiated meaningful interactions with our target audience. This initiative facilitated a direct and impactful connection, fostering greater understanding and interest in the bootcamp among our potential participants.

Social Proof: Established credibility and built brand loyalty for the Lagos Tech Skills Bootcamp through the creation of compelling testimonials. By featuring real success stories and positive experiences, we provided tangible evidence of the program’s impact. These testimonials not only enhanced the trustworthiness of the bootcamp but also resonated with our audience, encouraging a stronger connection and confidence in the value of the skills offered.

Result

The marketing campaign resulted in over 51% increase in registrations compared to the previous enrollment period. The compelling messaging, strategic use of social media, and personalized email outreach proved highly effective in capturing the attention of our target audience. This significant surge in sign-ups not only reflects the growing interest in the bootcamp but also reflects the success of our efforts in promoting this  tech skills program to aspiring professionals in Lagos and beyond.”
